IRISH DATA SPACES SANDBOX

The Irish Data Spaces Sandbox is Ireland’s controlled experimentation environment for trusted, interoperable data sharing.

It enables public bodies, enterprises, SMEs, and research organisations to design, test, and validate data space participation before deploying in operational ecosystems. The Sandbox reduces technical, regulatory, and interoperability risk by providing a structured environment where organisations can simulate real-world data exchange scenarios using policy-based access control, contract negotiation, and secure data transfer mechanisms.

Rather than treating data spaces as abstract policy concepts, the Sandbox translates European data strategy principles into executable, testable infrastructure.

What the sandbox provides

  • A secure pre-operational testing environment
  • Hands-on experience with trusted data sharing
  • Reduced technical and regulatory risk
  • Operational readiness for European data spaces
  • A foundation for scalable data-driven innovation

This event is being organised by the Data Spaces Alliance in Ireland in collaboration with Rinn Artificial Intelligence and the Data Science Institute at the University of Galway
